30 days of green smoothies

I read a book called "Green for life" the other day that inspired me to drink green smoothies everyday for breakfast for 30 days. 1 day down, 29 to go.

Green smoothie recipe:
2 bananas
1 bunch of dark salad greens
1 handful of spinach
2 cups of water or almond/coconut milk

Blend until smooth. Its very tasty.

Here we go again

Its time for me to get back to losing this weight! I have to say that nursing has helped a ton. I gained 25 pounds during my pregnancy and i have lost all but 7 of those pounds in the last 9 weeks. On Monday i started my new workout routine. I do 10-20 min in the morning and 10-20 min in the afternoon. I can't do it all at once because Lil'Naomi doesn't always sleep long enough for me to get it all done. I'm following The Makers Diet, except i eat pork and shell fish. There's another great program called The Diet Solution program. Its very similar to the makers diet.

On a different note...

Isn't she the cutest Pocahontas ever?

Grumpy or not she is still cute to me!

Big booty baby!

Yesterday we started using cloth diapers. I just love how big they make her bottom look! So far its not bad at all. I have a diaper sprayer in my bathroom that i spray her dirty diapers with and then they go into the diaper pail. I really hope i can stick with it. It will save us so much money if we don't have to buy diapers every month. I may even try cloth wipes!

First week as a mom

There are so many things i want to write about, but i will limit myself to just a few. First, i want to say thank you for all your prayers and for the sweet comments/messages you've sent me this past week. Naomi is a VERY good baby. We had a few fussy nights....well, actually screaming nights. She had some tummy problems the first few days, but that has passed. Momma P stayed up with her the first night and my mom stayed with us the next three nights. They were a huge help! My mom was here for 4 days and then had to head home to meet her other grand baby, Levi.

Naomi loves to be naked! She likes taking baths and having her diaper changed. I'm told this isn't normal =). She's nursing really well too. I get up about 3 times at night with her and she falls right back to sleep when she's done.

It'll be interesting to see how much she changes over the next few months. As for now, she is ALL Pelkey! She got my dark skin, hair, and eyes and that's about it. She looks so much like her daddy, Auntie, and Grandpa.

We're so i love with her!
